Internet TV – Good for business exposure and more work for us TV bods
The coolest thing i’ve been hearing about recently is the newest kind of freeview box that’s been made with wireless built in. That means you’ll be able to watch the internet on your TV – Top 10 YouTube clips, Yahoo music videos or one of these internet TV channels that are cropping up here, there and everywhere.
Get My Business On . TV and it’s clients in turn are more and more frequently being approached by this new breed of internet telly provider looking for businesses keen to be involved in their production. They’re after everything that TV makers need from the perfect location to sponsors to fund their shows. Whereas to sponsor Big Brother you fork out tens of thousands, with internet telly you’ll be shelling out a few hundred quid to have your brand plastered over the show. OK so they’ll have less viewers but a targeted audience aimed specifically at your market could be very valuable.
It’s another avenue of work for us TV makers too. Many of these channels are in need of TV making expertise, everything from format concept creators to self shooters and editors. Potentially a good second string to your media bow.
The most exciting part for businesses is that although product placement remains illegal on telly, on the internet it’s still up for grabs. The introduction of a plug in freeview box with internet access means that product placement in the UK can finally hit our screens.

Hi Hannah – well done on this service – wish I’d heard about it sooner.
As a brand manager for a major charity, we are always looking at ways to collaborate more closely with TV people and want to be flexible and amenable to requests. I have been watching GMBOTV with interest and it does seem to have formed a bridge for us as we want to help researchers and producers get the subject matter and shooting locations they need. Anyone out there wanting to do stuff on young people in difficulties and projects that help them out – let me know.
