What do you need this week? Is it a filming location? Probably with tricky requirements right? Or an expert ant farmer? A shoe juggler? A chocolate teapot perhaps?

We at gmbo understand. We are here for you. Contact us, tell us what you’re after and we will help with your hunt. We expect nothing in return. It’s good for us to be able to say we’re helping you out.

So next time you’re stuck ask us before you spend 3 days searching for it. We won’t even tell your boss so you can brag about how brilliant you are.

We helped Cineflix find their dream location, we helped X factor and The Apprentice deck out their houses, Britain’s Next Top Model pick products, Fix your house for free find housing remains . . . blah blah blah.

We can do anything. After all we found the Michael Jackson Dancing Horse.

We’re very fond of the guys at Hob Salons so we’re thrilled that they’ve just managed to scoop not one, not two but three awards at this year’s Hairdressing Awards. We think they totally deserved it but then we would say that because yet again they’ll be offering gmbo.tv users cheap cuts in Jan 2010. Make sure you’re signed up and you read your Jan newsletter to grab this incredible offer . . . Needless to say they’re all camera friendly and up for TV gigs. Contact them here.

British Hairdresser of the Year 2009 - Akin Konizi

Read more about their fantastic news:

Akin Konizi of HOB Salons is announced British Hairdresser of the Year for a second year running at 25th British Hairdressing Awards
….and HOB reign again as the Best of British with a hat-trick win.

There were celebrations amongst the HOB Salons team at the prestigious British Hairdressing Awards last night, where they enjoyed a hat-trick win for a record-breaking second consecutive year and which saw the group’s International Creative Director, Akin Konizi awarded the ultimate title of British Hairdresser of the Year for a second year running.

It was a night London-based hair group HOB Salons will not forget with Darren Bain firstly picking up the London Hairdresser of the Year title. He got up on stage again with the HOB Creative Team to accept the Artistic Team of the Year Award before the whole team stood up to applaud Akin winning the final award of the night for British Hairdresser of the Year.
Held in the spectacular Great Room at the Grosvenor House in London’s Park Lane on 23 November, The British Hairdressing Awards, presented by Hairdressers Journal International and sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009. Dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing world, the evening was compered by X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary to an audience of over 1750 guests from the world of hairdressing, fashion and media.

Recognising and rewarding the creativity of the British hairdressing industry, Akin Konizi held onto the esteemed British Hairdresser of the Year Award, making him only the third hairdresser in the history of the awards to win this title two years in a row after Trevor Sorbie and Beverly C and cementing his position as one of the hairdressing greats.

Acknowledged as a cutting genius, Akin is one of three Company Directors behind HOB, a group of 18 successful salons located throughout London, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Essex and Leeds. Based himself at the company’s flagship branch in London’s Camden Town, his trademark precision cutting techniques epitomise the HOB brand and his natural ability to translate hair trends into fashion-led, beautiful styles has given Akin a loyal following amongst other hairdressers, journalists, clients and celebrities such as chart-topper Pixie Lott.

Talented stylist and HOB Academy educator, Darren Bain competed against 5 other top stylists within the much sought-after category of London Hairdresser of the Year and was overwhelmed to win this coveted title for the first time, whilst the HOB Creative Team were elated to beat off stiff competition to be crowned the Artistic Team of the Year for the second year running.

Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Hairdressers Journal International, Jayne Lewis-Orr adds, “British hairdressing is renowned throughout the world for its creativity and innovation, and with the British Hairdressing Awards we are recognising, rewarding and celebrating the best of British. Akin Konizi, Darren Bain and the HOB Creative Team should be incredibly proud of their achievements”.

After receiving the ultimate award of the night Akin Konizi exclaimed; “I was thrilled to win not only the British Hairdresser of the Year Award but also the Artistic Team of the Year Award twice in a row. I am incredibly proud of Darren Bain who has been recognised for the talent he is in winning the London Hairdresser of the Year title. Words cannot describe how proud HOB Salons are to be recognised as the best in Britain and in our home city of London and we look forward to flying the flag for British hairdressing over the next year. I’d like to thank everyone that voted for me, my wonderful team at HOB, HJ and Schwarzkopf Professional for putting on the awards and Wella Professionals for their fantastic support”.
Akin Konizi, Darren Bain and the HOB Salons Creative Team are available to supply quotes and for photographic shoots, shows, seminars, session and broadcast work.

A few months back I was banging on about brands commissioning their own online TV Series about themselves to boost sales. Since then i’ve worked on two Series’ just like it. Have a peek at the two below to get the idea of what’s about.

Might this be something your brand should be doing?

Big news this week for TV makers and gmbo.tv clients . . .

The inevitable has finally happened. The government has agreed to legalise Product Placement in TV in the UK to help ease the pockets of TV channels and Production Companies.

This means that all the TV people who use this site will be needing to use it more. It means the TV shows that are currently searching for brands to use on this site, including THE X FACTOR, THE APPRENTICE and BRITAIN’S NEXT TOP MODEL will be able to give you something back for your help.

Also, for brands who have cash to splash, just as in America, brands will be able to pay to feature in UK TV shows.

As of this week getmybusinesson.tv will be stepping up their game to help suppliers contact the TV makers that need them. Contact us here if you’re interested in Product Placing in a TV show. We are still the only company with over 3 thousand TV users and a finger on the pulse of what’s hot in the industry.

More details in the below article.

gmbo.tv and Media Mingles get in bed together… at last!

Hannah Springham (me) and Kathryn Camsey (Media Mingles owner)

Hannah Springham (me) and Kathryn Camsey (Media Mingles owner)

Hannah Springham (me) and Kathryn Camsey (Media Mingles owner) at last month’s event.

So last month our sister company ‘Media Mingles’ had a very successful launch, so successful in fact that people are already trying to rebook for their next event.

And this time we’re joining forces! We’re hosting a joint party for gmbo.tv clients and TV people as well as the ‘Media Mingles’ bunch – home to single creative types from backgrounds such as design, music, media,  and more.

So i can tell you that the date to stick in your diaries is Friday 25th September. 7pm till late at Proud, Camden.

gmbo.tv clients go free and all TV people / creative types pay 5 quid to be there – not bad eh?

The idea is that 1. we all have a few drinks together, 2. we meet like minded people and potentially gain a few contacts while enjoying ourselves, 3. a few of us may pick up more than just contacts if they play their cards right as Kat pulls together the single hotties of the creative world.

Visit www.mediamingles.com or email kat@mediamingles.com for your tickets now. Clients quote gmbo.tv and the name of their business for free passes.

See you there!
